Riesling 2007
Fenn Valley’s Riesling 2007 was the top contender among 82 Rieslings from around the world at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. The competition was held March 29 & 30 in Rochester, near The Finger Lakes in upstate New York. Over 2350 entries from nearly 500 wineries spanning 39 states and 14 countries were judged by 45 judges from around the world.

The Finger Lakes wine region is known for their excellent Riesling wines, and this competition awards a “Best Riesling” for the top Riesling entered.

This year’s label is a part of the “Lighthouse Series” of labels that Fenn Valley is developing for use on our line of premium wines. The Riesling 2007 label is new this year and features a watercolor image (like the image above) of the lighthouse at the mouth of the harbor at Ludington, MI.

The wine is a semi-dry “German style” wine, made 100% from Riesling grown in the Lake Michigan Shore AVA. The wine exhibits a floral fragrance and a citrus/tropical fruit character that pairs well with Pacific Rim cooking and salmon, or drinks well by itself.
